At Age-Less Medicine, we have a three phase program that has one of the highest success rates in Tampa Bay. Here at Age-Less, we take a very conservative approach to making you loose the weight the right way – slowly and carefully so that you are less likely to gain the weight back.

Our weight management is a nutritional approach to changing your eating habits. We will use medication on some patients in moderation. All patients receive our proprietary vitamin injection to enhance your metabolism naturally.

It’s Not a DIET. It is a way of life!

The Age-Less Weight Management Program

Visit 1 – We draw an extensive blood panel and start you on our nutritional diet. You will also get a vitamin injection and the doctor will do a non-invasive physical examination.

Weekly Visits – We discuss your dietary progress and how you are responding to the diet and medications. You will also get a vitamin injection and weigh-in. We will set goals and give you all the support you need to loose weight and get healthy.

You will make weekly visits until you get to phase 2 of the diet

The Nutritional Program (Aka “The Diet”)

PHASE I – Acute weight loss. In this phase you are on a low calorie diet and make weekly visits to the clinic.

PHASE II – Transition & Toning. In this phase you will get more calories, a few more carbs and you have the option of coming in every other week.

PHASE III – Maintenance  - Flying Solo! In this phase you maintain your own diet and come in only when you need us.

How do I know If I need to loose weight?

First and foremost – ask yourself:
“How do I feel?” Then consult with us or another physician.

BMI Categories:
Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
Overweight = 25-29.9
Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater

The Truth About Ketosis – What exactly is Ketosis? Some medical books and websites might say that it is a "dangerous state" for the body, and it does sound abnormal to be "in ketosis." But ketosis simply means that our body is using fat for energy. Ketones (also called ketone bodies) are little chemicals generated during fat metabolism, whether from the fat you just ate or fat you were carrying around your middle. When the body breaks down fat for energy, the production of Ketones are a part of the process. So – Ketosis actually tells us that we are burning fat. So – That’s a good thing when we are trying to loose weight.

In our weight management program, we ask you to monitor your ketones in your urine. You do this by simply urinating on a little stick that changes colors. Remember – our program is supervised by a doctor, so your states of ketosis is monitored and kept at an appropriate level.

The Truth about Carbohydrates – Carbohydrates are in many of the foods we eat. Unfortunatley, they are also most prevalent in our favorite foods. But, what exactly are they? Simply put – carbohydrates are sugar. Carbohydrates or “carbs” are in what we call “The White Foods” – Potatoes, pasta, bread, cereal, rice and many other foods. Right after we eat these carbs, our body turns them into glucose, which is a sugar. Now, the body has to decide what to do with it, use it for energy or store it as fat. What do you think happens most of the time, and especially if we eat too much of them? You guessed it, the body stores that sugar in the form of a triglyceride which is fat.

Carbohydrates are important – they are needed for many functions in the body, including energy production, but Americans tend to over eat them because our understanding of the food pyramid is completely upside down. In our weight management program, we aknowledge and respect carbohydrates as an important part of the diet – but we cut them down to a much smaller portion so your body knows to burn it instead of store it.

The Truth about Type II Diabetes and Obesity – Mainstream medicine will tell you that Type II Diabetes is generally related to genetics and if you have a family history of it, you are probably going to get it too. Many of you considering our weight management program may already have Type II Diabetes. Well we have some exciting news about this disease – it is reversible and manageable and if you follow our program with a little discipline, you may even be able to get off of your medication!

Most of the time, Type II Diabetes is “self-induced” – usually through bad eating habits or just following the typical American diet.
